Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the establishment of the Federal University of Agriculture and Entrepreneurship in Bama, describing the initiative as a significant milestone for educational growth in the North-East.

Zulum made the remarks during a visit to the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, in Abuja, following the appointment of principal officers for the newly created institution.

According to the governor, the speedy appointment of the university’s management team reflects the Federal Government’s determination to expand access to quality education and strengthen academic development in Borno State and the wider North-East region.

He also commended the Minister of Education for facilitating the appointment process, noting that the move would fast-track the commencement of academic and administrative activities at the university.

Zulum assured the Federal Government of the Borno State Government’s readiness to support the institution to ensure a successful take-off.

He stated that the establishment of the university would not only improve access to higher education but also stimulate economic growth, promote entrepreneurship, advance agricultural innovation and enhance human capital development in the state.

The Federal Government recently approved the appointment of Prof. Tijjani Kalli as Vice Chancellor of the institution, while Abba Kaka was named Registrar, Bashir Subaru as Bursar and Aishatu Halilu as Librarian.

The governor was accompanied on the visit by member of the House of Representatives, Engr. Bukar Talba; Chairman of the Borno State Social Investment Programme, Hon. Yuguda Vungas Saleh; and elder statesman, Alhaji Mamman Tubo.
