Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has approved the payment of allowances to National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the state.
The approval was announced in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mahmud Muhammad Dantawasa, who said the decision underscores the administration’s commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of corps members contributing to the development of the state.
According to the statement, the payment will cover corps members from Batch A Stream I and II through Batch C Stream I and II.
The state government said the initiative is aimed at recognizing the patriotism, dedication and selfless service of the young graduates, particularly in critical sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture and other areas of the state’s economy.
Governor Lawal also directed the Office of the Accountant General to make all necessary arrangements to ensure the prompt implementation of the approval.
The development is expected to boost the morale of corps members serving across Zamfara state and support their contributions to community development and public service.
