Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has inaugurated two new commissioners into the state executive council, urging them to uphold accountability, transparency, and responsible governance in the discharge of their duties.
The newly appointed commissioners are Bashir Lawandi Datti, who will oversee the Ministry of Water Resources and Energy Development, and Ephraim Usman Gar, who takes charge of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Their inauguration followed their successful screening and confirmation by the Plateau State House of Assembly.
The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Government House Little Rayfield and was conducted by the Deputy Governor, Josephine Piyo, who administered the Oath of Office and Oath of Allegiance on behalf of the governor.
Speaking at the event, Governor Mutfwang congratulated the new commissioners and charged them to carry out their responsibilities with integrity, diligence, and a strong commitment to public service. He urged them to align their efforts with the administration’s development blueprint anchored on the “Time is Now” agenda.
The governor said the appointments reflect his administration’s resolve to strengthen governance institutions and improve service delivery across critical sectors, particularly water resources, energy development, local government administration, and the preservation of traditional institutions.
He also emphasized the need for teamwork, transparency, and a people-centered approach to governance, noting that these principles are essential to achieving the administration’s developmental goals and improving the welfare of Plateau residents.
In their separate remarks, the commissioners thanked Governor Mutfwang for the confidence reposed in them and pledged to serve with loyalty, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility.
They assured residents of their commitment to delivering on the mandates of their respective ministries and supporting the administration’s broader development agenda for the state.
