The Delta State Government has approved over N275 billion for the execution of 76 projects across various sectors, marking a major investment in infrastructure, healthcare, and urban renewal.
The approval was granted during the first executive council meeting of 2025, which was presided presided over by the state governor. Sheriff Oborevwori at the Government House in Asaba, the state capital.
Announcing the decision after the meeting, the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, described the move as “record breaking” and a direct response to critics.
He emphasized that Governor Oborevwori’s administration is committed to delivering real value to the people.
The projects, according to him, which will be implemented across all the three senatorial districts include roads construction , health care improvement and urban redevelopment initiative.
Notably, the funding model ensures that 40 percent mobilization will be provided upfront without the state resorting to loans, demonstrating financial stability and transparency in governance.
One of the standout products, as announced by the state government, is the remodeling of Warri city stadium, reaffirming the state’s commitment to legacy infrastructure.
Additionally, several road construction projects were approved, among which he enumerated to include Uruagbesa Oria-Abraka road, Egodo-Ogbeinbebe road, Amai-Aragba road, among others.
The government was also said to have allocated N1.6 billion for the contributory health scheme with a monthly release of N100 million to sustain healthcare coverage for Delta residents.
