Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) stormed to their first-ever UEFA Champions League title in emphatic fashion, dismantling Inter Milan 5–0 in a dominant display at the Allianz Arena.
The French champions delivered a statement performance on European football’s biggest stage, securing the largest winning margin in Champions League final history.
From the first whistle, Luis Enrique’s side asserted control, combining tactical discipline with ruthless attacking intent.
Achraf Hakimi opened the scoring in the 12th minute, slotting home a composed finish after a slick move involving Ousmane Dembélé. Despite his clinical strike, Hakimi refrained from celebrating out of respect for his former club.
PSG doubled their lead just eight minutes later through 18-year-old sensation Désiré Doué, who found the net after a flowing team play. Doué continued to dazzle, adding his second and PSG’s third early in the second half to put the result beyond doubt.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia added the fourth with a precise strike in the 73rd minute, and substitute Mayulu capped off the rout with a late fifth, sending PSG fans into ecstasy and sealing a dream night for the Parisians.
The result capped off a treble-winning season for PSG, who had already claimed Ligue 1 and Coupe de France titles. It also marked the club’s long-awaited breakthrough in Europe, following years of heartbreak and near-misses.
For Inter Milan, the heavy defeat spells uncertainty, with reports suggesting manager Simone Inzaghi could depart following the loss.
PSG’s triumph not only ends their Champions League drought but also establishes them as a new powerhouse in European football with the promise of more to come.
