Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has reiterated his administration’s dedication to promoting religious harmony and advancing development across the state.
Speaking over the weekend on behalf of the governor at a one-day summit for Islamic scholars, Chief Imams, and Muslim groups drawn from the sixteen local government areas, Special Adviser on Muslim Religious Affairs, Hussaini Ismaila, emphasized the administration’s inclusive approach to governance.
The summit, themed “Faithful Gathering,” was organized by the Office of the Special Adviser on Muslim Religious Matters to reinforce Governor Kefas’s vision of unity and good governance.
Highlighting the governor’s initiatives, Ismaila noted that the administration had sponsored Muslim pilgrims to this year’s Hajj and that Governor Kefas made history by personally breaking fast with underprivileged citizens during Ramadan.
On security, he stated that under Kefas’s leadership, the state has experienced a marked decline in kidnapping and other criminal activities, resulting in greater peace and stability.
In the education sector, Ismaila reaffirmed the government’s commitment to free education, mentioning the payment of NECO and WAEC examination fees as well as the reduction of tuition fees in higher institutions to make education more accessible.
He also called on Islamic clerics to continue praying for the success of the administration, adding that Muslims now enjoy greater political representation and that the governor remains committed to fairness and equality, irrespective of religious differences.
The summit, as observed by WorldClass247News, also featured remarks from religious leaders, who emphasized the need for mutual respect, religious tolerance, and unity to build a peaceful and prosperous Taraba State.
