The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State has dismissed allegations that Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang disbursed ₦6 million to some individuals, describing the claims as baseless and politically motivated.
The party said the allegations, contained in a statement issued by a factional Publicity Secretary of the opposition party, lacked evidence and were intended to discredit the governor.
The APC stated this in a press statement dated October 22, 2026, and signed by its Plateau State Publicity Secretary, Wumanna Bako Manabe.
According to the party, the allegations were part of a campaign to malign the governor and distract the public from his administration’s activities.
It described the claims as fabricated, insisting that they had no substance or credibility.
The APC further accused the opposition of attempting to divert public attention from its internal leadership crisis by making allegations of financial impropriety against the governor.
The ruling party said the opposition should address its internal challenges rather than make accusations it described as unsubstantiated.
“These claims are entirely lacking in substance, evidence, or truth,” the statement said.
The APC also maintained that the people of Plateau State would not be swayed by what it described as propaganda, adding that the governor remained focused on governance and development.
The party said the Mutfwang administration was committed to delivering democratic dividends, improving security and promoting sustainable development across the state.
It urged members of the public to disregard the allegations, describing them as an attempt by the opposition to undermine the governor’s administration.
The APC further advised the opposition leadership to concentrate on resolving its internal disagreements rather than engage in what it called a campaign of calumny against the governor.
Reaffirming its support for Mutfwang, the party said the allegations would not distract the administration from pursuing its development agenda for Plateau State.
