The Gombe State Commissioner for Education, Professor Aishatu Umar Maigari, has called on students from the state participating in the National School Exchange Program to represent Gombe with dignity and discipline in their host states.
Professor Maigari made the remarks on while bidding farewell to the departing students. She encouraged them to remain focused on their studies and uphold good behavior, stressing that their conduct and academic performance reflect on the state’s image.
The Commissioner also praised Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, describing him as a visionary leader committed to transforming Gombe State into a model for educational excellence.
She urged the students to continually pray for leaders at all levels to enable them carry out development projects essential for nation-building.
Also speaking at the event, the Director General and Sole Administrator of Gombe State Transport Services (Gombe Line), Sani Sabo, highlighted the agency’s role in the exchange program.
He noted that Gombe Line is responsible for safely transporting both indigene and non-indigene to their respective schools every academic term.
He assured that the agency remains committed to safe and efficient service delivery, citing traffic control and safety as core operational principles.
Representing the parents, Mr. Moses James commended the state government for its commitment to the school exchange initiative, saying it fosters unity and strengthens inter-state relationships.
