The Borno State Police Command has confirmed the death of four people following an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion suspected to have been planted by Boko Haram insurgents along the Maiduguri-Damboa road.
The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday at Komala village in Konduga Local Government Area, when an Isuzu pickup van with registration number DAM 156 XA, carrying passengers from Damboa to Maiduguri, struck the explosive device.
In a statement issued to journalists, the Police Public Relations Officer, Nahum Daso, said: “The Police Command regrets to report a tragic incident that killed four persons, including the driver, on June 25, 2025, along the 85-kilometre Damboa road.”
