Angola is set to make history as the first Portuguese-speaking nation to host the 12th Africa Federation of Teaching Regulatory Authorities (AFTRA) Conference and the 14th Roundtable in 2025.

The announcement was made during a preparatory meeting in Lubango, where AFTRA President Dr. Ebby Mubanga expressed gratitude to the Angolan government for accepting the request to host the prestigious continental event.

Dr. Mubanga, who also serves as the Registrar of the Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ), congratulated Angola on its upcoming 50th Independence Anniversary, to be celebrated later this year.

He emphasized AFTRA’s commitment to supporting the host country in bringing together educational experts from across Africa to advance the teaching profession.

The recent AFTRA Executive Board Meeting was attended by the Vice Governor of Huila Province, Ms. Maria Joao Francisco Chipalavela, who reaffirmed Angola’s dedication to education.

She highlighted the government’s commitment to collaborating with organizations like AFTRA to enhance teaching standards across the continent.

Vice Governor Chipalavela pledged Angola’s full support in ensuring a successful and historic conference, which is scheduled to take place from May 5th to 10th, 2025.
