Governor Agbu Kefas, of Taraba state, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to delivering development and improved governance across the state, particularly in the southern zone.
He made the pledge on Tuesday during a town hall meeting held in Wukari, aimed at directly engaging with residents and listening to their most pressing concerns.
The meeting, as noticed by our reporter, came in the wake of increasing criticism from sections of the public over what many describe as the slow pace of development and unfulfilled promises since the governor assumed office in 2023.
Addressing a gathering of stakeholders, which include traditional rulers, and community members, governor Kefas expressed deep appreciation for the support he received from the southern zone during the last election.
He outlined key achievements of his administration in sectors including education, healthcare, agriculture, and security, while assuring that more efforts were underway to address lingering issues.
The governor announced that his administration will commence road construction and implement empowerment programmes across the state starting in October 2025.
According to him, the town hall meeting was part of efforts to interface directly with citizens, understand their needs firsthand, and ensure that government projects reflect the people’s priorities.
“I am here to listen, to learn, and to work with you to bring meaningful change,” Kefas told the audience.
While encouraging the governor to intensify focus on youth and women empowerment, the stakeholders also commended the governor’s outreach efforts and acknowledged strides made under his administration.
As the political climate in Taraba heats up ahead of the administration’s mid-term mark, the governor’s engagement with constituents, as gathered by WorldClass247News, signals a push to rebuild trust and accelerate delivery on campaign promises.
