The Commander of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 of Operation WHIRL STROKE, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, has urged officers and soldiers to use the West African Social Activities (WASA) celebration as an opportunity to reaffirm their commitment to discipline, loyalty, teamwork and unity across ranks and cultures.
Brigadier General Uwa made the call at the weekend while serving as the Special Guest of Honour at the maiden WASA 2025 of 114 Battalion (Rear), held at the Battalion Parade Ground in Jimilari, Lau Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The colourful event brought together officers, soldiers, their families and friends of the Battalion in a celebration of unity, tradition and esprit de corps.
Commending the Commanding Officer, officers and soldiers of 114 Battalion (Rear), the Brigade Commander praised their discipline, professionalism and dedication to duty.
He noted that the Battalion’s roles in operational support, administration and regimentation remain critical to the overall success of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 of Operation WHIRL STROKE.
Brigadier General Uwa also lauded the spouses and families of the troops for their patience, resilience and unwavering support, describing their sacrifices as essential to sustaining morale and operational effectiveness within the Nigerian Army.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the Commanding Officer of 114 Battalion (Rear), Major John Kopji Datol, described the occasion as historic, noting that it marked the first WASA celebration in the history of the Battalion.
Major Datol expressed appreciation to the Commander of 6 Brigade for his continued support, particularly in the areas of welfare, training, operations and regimentation, adding that such support has contributed significantly to the Battalion’s effectiveness and cohesion.
