Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has restated his administration’s commitment to empowering youths and women as part of efforts to drive sustainable development in Adamawa State.
The governor made this pledge while receiving a delegation from the Yusrah Muslim and Youths Organisation at the Government House in Yola.
Welcoming the group during the visit, which coincided with the holy month of Ramadan, Governor Fintiri expressed his appreciation for their dedication to community development.
He highlighted the progress achieved under his leadership, emphasizing that his administration remains focused on fulfilling campaign promises centered on good governance.
Reflecting on the early challenges of his tenure, Fintiri recalled that Adamawa was once in distress due to insurgency and security threats.
However, he noted that his government successfully restored stability, creating an environment for growth and development.
The governor underscored the importance of empowering women and youths, describing them as the most vulnerable groups in society.
As part of his administration’s efforts, he announced plans to expand educational sponsorship programs, recruit more teachers, and ensure proper staffing for newly established institutions, including a facility dedicated to women’s education.
Fintiri also encouraged the delegation to continue advocating for peace and unity while praying for the progress of the state.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Professor Fatima Joda praised the governor for his impactful interventions, particularly in supporting women entrepreneurs.
She highlighted initiatives such as the Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency, along with infrastructural development projects, as key drivers of economic empowerment in the state.
Professor Joda reaffirmed the Yusrah Muslim and Youths Organisation’s commitment to supporting women and young people through skills acquisition and empowerment programs, emphasizing the need for continued collaboration with the government.
