Governor Mai Mala Buni has officially launched a flood and erosion control project in Damaturu, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to tackling environmental challenges in the state.
The initiative, spearheaded by Dederi Investment Limited under the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project, as noticed by WorldClass247News, is aimed mitigating the damaging effects of floods, protect farmlands, and enhance agricultural productivity.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Governor Buni highlighted the project’s significance in safeguarding lives, ensuring food security, and fostering economic growth.
“We are committed to providing lasting solutions to erosion and flooding in our communities,” he said. “This project will transform lives by enhancing agricultural productivity and ensuring the safety and well-being of our people.”
ACReSAL Task Team Lead, Dr. Joy Iganye Agene, commended the Yobe State Government for its proactive approach to climate challenges.
She urged Dederi Investment Limited to deliver high-quality work and emphasized the need to involve local youth to create employment opportunities.
The Managing Director of Dederi Investment Limited, Dr. Babagana Mohammed Adam, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in the company. He assured stakeholders of a transparent and efficient execution, adhering to environmental sustainability standards.
