The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Borno state command, and the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening inter-agency collaboration in support of ongoing counter-insurgency operations in the North-East.
The renewed commitment was made during a courtesy visit by the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 7 Division Nigerian Army and Commander, Sector 1, Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, Brigadier General S.S. Diwa, to the NSCDC Borno State Command Headquarters in Maiduguri.
The visit, according to the Command, aligns with the GOC’s operational doctrine of “Excellence through Inter-Agency Collaboration,” which seeks to enhance cooperation among security agencies operating within the theatre of operations.
Speaking during the visit, Brig. Gen. Diwa commended the NSCDC for its tactical, intelligence, and operational support to the ongoing counter-insurgency campaign. He reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to sustaining and expanding the strategic partnership between both organisations to improve operational effectiveness.
In his response, the Borno State Commandant of the NSCDC, Ahmed Bello Gaya, described the relationship between the Corps and the Nigerian Army as longstanding and institutional. He also acknowledged the Army’s significant contributions to the capacity building and specialised training of NSCDC personnel.
Gaya assured the Army of the Corps’ continued commitment to professionalism, integrity, and humility in carrying out its statutory responsibilities, particularly in support of Operation HADIN KAI.
