Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, has called on women and youths to take an active role in nation-building and development.
Speaking at a political stakeholders’ seminar held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Yola on Saturday, she emphasized their vital role in shaping a better future.
“As leaders, we must be focused on making governance closer to the people. We have to ensure that youths and women occupy their rightful places in governance,” Farauta stated.
She commended the current administration for its inclusivity, highlighting the appointment of women in key positions, including her role as Deputy Governor, vice chairpersons across the 21 local government areas, and other advisory positions.
Farauta also cautioned youths against the misuse of social media, warning that they would be held accountable for any content that undermines peace and stability in society.
The event was organized by Dr. Victor Dogo, Principal Special Assistant (PSA) on Social Mobilization to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.
He explained that the gathering aimed to foster discussions on the state’s achievements and the role of women and youth in national development.
Under the theme “The Adamawa Year of Service and the Role of Women and Youth in the Nigeria First Project,” the event reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to service, empowerment, and national progress under the “Budget of Service Year” initiative.
Dr. Dogo praised Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s leadership, describing it as transformative, inclusive, and focused on correcting past injustices while bridging generational gaps. He emphasized that the administration’s bold policies have set a new standard for governance and unity in Adamawa State.
