The Adamawa State Police Command has deployed additional security personnel to Kopre village in Hong Local Government Area following a violent ambush on hunters and members of the civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) on April 26, 2025.
In a statement released to journalists, the Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, announced that the Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, ordered the reinforcements to strengthen security in the border community, which lies close to Borno State.
The deployment forms part of ongoing efforts by the command, in collaboration with the military and other security agencies, to curb violent crimes, safeguard lives and property, and recover illegal firearms in the region.
Commissioner Morris tasked the newly deployed officers with maintaining a high level of professionalism, ensuring swift response times, and employing tactical expertise to enhance security operations. He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting citizens throughout the state.
Emphasizing the role of intelligence-led policing, the commissioner commended officers stationed at border areas for their dedication in combating criminal activities.
He also urged the public to assist security agencies by providing timely and accurate information to help prevent crime and maintain peace.
