The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of Ramadan, calling for the continued spirit of sacrifice and unity for national progress.
In his Eid-el-Fitr goodwill message, Mohammed emphasized that Ramadan is a time of spiritual rejuvenation, fostering love, sacrifice, and good neighborliness. He urged Nigerians to uphold these values beyond the festivities to strengthen national cohesion and peaceful coexistence.
“As we celebrate, I encourage all Nigerians to sustain the discipline and selflessness displayed during Ramadan for the betterment of our society,” he stated.
Highlighting road safety during the festive period, Mohammed advised motorists to exercise patience and caution, urging them to extend love and compassion while driving. He reaffirmed the FRSC’s commitment to ensuring a safer road environment through the deployment of officers across major corridors and accident-prone areas.
“I call on all Nigerians to support the campaign for safer roads by avoiding speeding, overloading, and driving against traffic,” he said.
The Corps Marshal also praised FRSC personnel for their dedication to road safety despite challenges posed by reckless drivers. He reassured them of the agency’s commitment to improving their welfare through capacity development, better working conditions, and regular promotions.
Expressing gratitude to President Bola Tinubu’s administration for its support, Mohammed pledged that the FRSC would enhance productivity and service delivery. He also reiterated the agency’s focus on leveraging technology to improve traffic management across the country.
“As the lead agency for road safety, we remain committed to deploying innovative strategies to enhance traffic management and restore sanity on our roads,” he added.
With increased vehicular movement expected during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, the FRSC has intensified its operations to ensure free-flowing traffic and minimize accidents. Mohammed urged the public to report road emergencies via the National Emergency Line (122) or the FRSC National Traffic Radio (107.1 FM) for prompt response.
