The Commissioner of Police in Taraba State, Bretet Emmanuel Simon, has urged parents and guardians to caution their children against engaging in unlawful activities during the Sallah celebrations.
In a statement released on Sunday by the command’s acting spokesperson, James Leshen, the police chief warned that any act of lawlessness or disruption of public peace would not be tolerated.
He assured residents that comprehensive security arrangements have been put in place to ensure a hitch-free celebration across the state.
According to the commissioner, strategic deployments have been made to key locations, including prayer grounds, recreational centers, and places of worship, in collaboration with other security agencies.
The police command also issued a stern warning to individuals planning to cause trouble during the festivities, stating that law enforcement is fully prepared to deal decisively with any threats to peace and order.
Simon called on residents to cooperate with security agencies to ensure a safe and peaceful celebration. He reaffirmed the police command’s commitment to maintaining law and order throughout the festive period.
