Nigeria and Bangladesh are set to deepen their collaboration in defence, agriculture, and military cooperation, aiming to integrate military personnel into non-combat sectors such as agriculture, construction, and infrastructure development.
Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, disclosed this during a meeting with Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mansur Rahman, at Ship House, Abuja.
The discussions focused on leveraging military resources for productive engagement during peacetime, fostering economic growth and national development.
Abubakar emphasized the benefits of military involvement in agriculture, noting that such initiatives would not only enhance food security but also provide military personnel with valuable skills and opportunities for community development.
High Commissioner Rahman welcomed the initiative, highlighting its potential to strengthen Nigeria’s blue economy and contribute to long-term economic stability.
