The governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling insecurity following a strategic visit by a high-level delegation from the Nigerian Air Force.
The visit, which took place at the Government House, featured the presentation and inspection of advanced military air assets, including a helicopter equipped with mounted weapon systems designed for rapid response and precision operations in volatile areas.
Governor Lawal, alongside senior government officials and top security personnel, received a detailed briefing on the aircraft’s operational capabilities, range, and its potential role in addressing banditry and related threats across the state.
Air Force officers also conducted demonstrations of key components of the aircraft, highlighting its mounted guns and surveillance systems. They emphasized the platform’s effectiveness in both reconnaissance and combat missions, particularly in difficult terrains where criminal elements often operate.
The governor showed keen interest throughout the engagement, inspecting the equipment closely and seeking clarification on its deployment strategies and coordination with ground forces.
Speaking after the briefing, Governor Lawal expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and the leadership of the Nigerian Air Force for their sustained efforts in restoring peace to Zamfara.
He reiterated his administration’s readiness to provide the necessary logistical support and cooperation to security agencies working to rid the state of criminal elements.
