Landowners in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State have expressed their gratitude towards Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas for his prompt action in compensating them for land acquired by the state government for the permanent site of the Federal University, Wukari.
The beneficiaries, represented by Ba’aku Bawa Adi, Secretary of the Compensation Committee, commended Governor Kefas for addressing a longstanding issue that had been neglected by four previous administrations. According to the landowners, since assuming office in 2023, the governor has made the payment of compensation a priority, providing significant relief to the affected families.
“Governor Kefas has shown genuine commitment to the plight of the beneficiaries by disbursing the funds as agreed. His actions have brought much-needed relief to many families who have been waiting for years,” said Mr. Adi.
Legal counsel for the landowners, P.M. Shagnah, Esq., who has represented them for over a decade during litigation and mediation processes, also lauded the governor for his swift and fair approach.
“He is a God-sent leader who has wiped away the tears of my clients after years of neglect by previous regimes,” Shagnah remarked.
The landowners, encouraged by the governor’s consistent and timely response to their concerns, expressed optimism that the remaining compensation payments will soon be finalized.
They believe that the governor’s actions reflect his dedication to justice and the well-being of his constituents, contributing to ongoing peace and stability in the Wukari area and the wider state.
