The Edo State Police Command has launched an investigation following the circulation of a viral video showing a young man brandishing a firearm and firing shots into the air before driving away in an unmarked white Hilux vehicle. The incident reportedly occurred at an unidentified location in Edo State.
Contrary to speculation, the police have clarified that no shooting took place at the Edo State High Court during the Election Tribunal sitting on January 15, 2025.
The Command emphasized that adequate security measures were in place to maintain order and prevent any disruptions.
Commissioner of Police, Umoru P. Ozigi, has directed a thorough investigation to identify the individual in the video and determine their whereabouts for possible prosecution.

In a statement made available to media practitioners in the state, the command’s spokesperson, Moses Joel Yamu, reassured the public of the Command’s commitment to maintaining law and order.
