The management of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), has refuted claims circulating on some online platforms that a student of the institution, Shebah Rilakwo Jatau, recently passed away.
In an official statement issued by the Acting Information and Protocol Officer, Jaafar Abdullahi Abubakar, the university clarified that the deceased was not a student but the son of a senior staff member, Professor Benson Shedrack Jatau.
Describing the reports as misinformation, Abubakar called on the general public to disregard them in their entirety.
According to reports, the young man tragically took his own life on April 28, 2025, at the university’s senior staff quarters.
