The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has dismissed rumors circulating on social media suggesting that an injured officer is among the newly passed-out constables and was unfit for service due to impaired vision.
In a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the NPF clarified that the officer in question had joined the Force several years ago in top physical condition, meeting all recruitment and medical requirements.
His current condition, the statement revealed, resulted from an operational gunshot injury sustained two years ago during a critical duty assignment.
The Force emphasized that its recruitment process remains stringent, ensuring that only candidates who meet the necessary physical and medical criteria are enlisted.
The officer’s injury, rather than being a pre-existing condition, was acquired in the line of duty, reflecting his bravery and dedication to service.
The NPF reassured the public that the injured officer has received full support throughout his recovery process.
The statement urged citizens and media outlets to refrain from spreading misinformation that could damage the reputation of police personnel and the integrity of the Force.
The Police reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high recruitment standards and supporting officers who risk their lives to ensure national security.
