Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to strengthening security and revitalizing the state’s economy.
Speaking during a service at COCIN LCC Rayfield to mark Pastor’s Day, the governor emphasized that ensuring the safety of lives and property remains a top priority for his government.
Governor Mutfwang also announced a strategic move to boost the state’s agricultural sector by officially rebranding Irish potatoes grown in Plateau as “Plateau Potato”
He described this initiative as a step toward promoting the state’s produce on the global market and enhancing economic opportunities for local farmers.
“We are committed to lifting Plateau to a level of prosperity where other nations will desire to partake in God’s blessings in this land.
As part of our agricultural transformation, we have officially rebranded the Irish potato as ‘Plateau Potato.’ Next month, we will also begin the reconstruction of the Abattoir to further boost our agro-economy,” he stated.
Addressing the congregation, Governor Mutfwang assured residents of continued efforts to tackle security challenges, restore peace, and uphold Plateau’s status as the Home of Peace and Tourism. He called on Christians to unite beyond denominational boundaries and play a leading role in fostering peace.
“We must pray fervently because God answers prayers. I understand that many families are experiencing hardship, but I assure you, though sorrow may endure for a night, joy comes in the morning. There are better days ahead,” he declared.
He also acknowledged progress in security efforts and expressed confidence that, by divine intervention, lasting peace and stability would be fully restored in the state.
