In a sustained effort to improve troop morale and operational performance, the Commander Corps of Artillery (CCA), Major General Zakari Abubakar, has embarked on an operational visit to the 301 Artillery Regiment (General Support) in Gombe State.
The visit, which took place at the Regiment’s new barracks along Yola Road, was contained in a statement released to journalists by Captain Mazinho Attah, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 301 Artillery Regiment (General Support), Gombe.
The CCA was received with full military honours, including a ceremonial quarter guard. He was later briefed by the Commander 301 AR (GS), Colonel A.M. Mohammed, who presented a detailed overview of the unit’s operational engagements, highlighting notable successes and persistent challenges.
Colonel Mohammed credited sound command principles for the Regiment’s achievements in tackling security threats in the area. He also reiterated the unit’s commitment to maintaining operational excellence.
In his remarks, Major General Abubakar praised the dedication and professionalism of the troops, stating, “Your efforts are deeply appreciated. This visit is about reaffirming our support, identifying needs, and encouraging continued excellence.”
The CCA assured personnel of improved welfare packages and emphasized the importance of sustaining momentum in countering emerging security threats.
The visit was also attended by the Commander of 33 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General U.G. Simon, senior officers, and other personnel.
Activities marking the visit included tree planting, a guided tour of facilities, signing of the visitors’ register, presentation of plaques, and group photographs.
The visit highlights the Nigerian Army’s ongoing commitment to operational efficiency, leadership support, and troop welfare.
