The Adamawa State Police Command has opened an investigation into a violent armed robbery that left a 25-year-old POS operator severely injured in the Ngurore community of Yola South local government council.
According to a statement issued on weekend by the Police Public Relations Officer, of the command, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, Commissioner of Police Dankombo Morris has directed the Criminal Investigation Department to commence an immediate and thorough probe into the attack on the victim, identified as Mr. Akwarakiram Abel.
Family members reported the incident to police, stating that the home invasion occurred in the early hours of November 21, between 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m.
Unknown assailants, armed with dangerous weapons, allegedly broke into Abel’s residence in Sabon Pegi, attacked him, and stole his belongings. The attackers also inflicted deep machete wounds on the victim, resulting in the amputation of his hand.
The commissioner of police, condemned the act and assured that the command would pursue all leads to apprehend those responsible. He emphasized that the perpetrators would face justice once arrested.
The command reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding residents across Adamawa State and called for increased cooperation from members of the public in efforts to protect lives and property.
