The Adamawa State House of Assembly has repealed the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission Law No. 6 of 2014 and enacted a new version for 2025, aiming to enhance hajj operations and improve administrative efficiency.
During a plenary session, Majority Leader, Kate Raymond Mamuno presented the bill for its third reading. Lawmakers approved the measure after reviewing recommendations from the Committee on Public Petition, Public Service, and Electoral Matters.
The committee emphasized that the new law would strengthen discipline, enhance staff training, and align with the guidelines of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
With this development, Adamawa State, as gathered by WorldClass247News, is set to achieve full compliance with NAHCON regulations, further solidifying its status among states with an established Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission.
The motion for the bill’s third reading was moved by Majority Leader Mamuno and seconded by Deputy Speaker Mohammed Buba Jijjiwa. Speaker Bathiya Wesley, who presided over the session, put the motion to a vote, securing unanimous support from lawmakers.
Following its passage, the Speaker directed the Clerk of the House to prepare a clean copy of the bill for submission to the Executive Arm for final approval and implementation.
