In a strategic move to enhance inter agency coordination and improve security operations, military and paramilitary agencies in Adamawa state, have initiated a monthly joint route exercise.
The initiative, as gathered by our state correspondent, is aimed at fostering unity, encouraging intelligence-sharing, and bolstering rapid response capabilities against emerging security threats, across the state.
The inaugural exercise commenced on Saturday , at the Police Roundabout, covered key security corridors, including the Government House and AA Lawal Road, before returning to the starting point.
Speaking after the march, the Commander of the 23 Brigade, Brigadier General Paul Zawaya, emphasized the significance of security forces working as a cohesive unit to effectively tackle security challenges.
“Security is a collective responsibility. The only way to decisively defeat threats is by working together with a shared vision, unwavering resolve, and operational cohesion,” he stated.
The event saw strong participation from key security officials, including the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Adamawa State Command, Commandant Idris Bande, and the Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Adamawa State Command, Comptroller Ibrahim Mohammed. Senior officers and personnel from various security agencies also took part.
Some participants who spoke with reporters, highlighted the importance of the exercise, describing it as a testament to the commitment of Adamawa’s security forces to strengthening their operational synergy and ensuring sustained peace and stability in the state.
The joint route march is expected to continue monthly as part of broader efforts to enhance security collaboration and preparedness in Adamawa State.
