The Yobe state government has signed contracts for three major road projects aimed at improving transportation, enhancing connectivity, and stimulating economic activities across the state.
The contract signing ceremony took place on Thursday at the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Works in Damaturu, where the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Umar Wakili, signed the agreements on behalf of the state government.
The projects include the repair and asphalt overlay of the Kalallawa–Kaliyari Road, awarded to Triacta Nigeria Limited; the reconstruction of the Tetteba–Gulani Road with a seven-kilometre spur to Garin Tuwo, awarded to Elegance Construction Nigeria Limited; and the completion of a seven-kilometre asphalt overlay on the Damagum–Gubana Road, awarded to EEC Nigeria Limited.
The projects, as gathered by WorldClass247News, form part of governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration’s efforts to expand and modernise critical infrastructure across Yobe state to support socio-economic development and improve the living standards of residents.
Speaking Engr. Wakili said the projects were strategically selected to address transportation challenges, improve access to communities, facilitate trade and commerce, and support the state’s broader development agenda.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to delivering durable and high-quality infrastructure capable of meeting the needs of the growing population while contributing to economic growth and social development.
According to the commissioner, the Buni administration remains focused on investing in infrastructure that promotes economic activities, creates opportunities for businesses, and enhances the welfare of citizens across the state.
Speaking on behalf of the contractors, Mr. Adamu Sallau of Elegance Construction Nigeria Limited, applauded governor Buni and the state government for the confidence placed in the companies.
He assured that the contractors would execute the projects in line with approved specifications, maintain high standards of workmanship, and complete the work within the stipulated timeframe.
Sallau also pledged the contractors’ commitment to delivering quality road infrastructure that would improve the lives of residents, boost economic activities, and contribute to the overall development of Yobe state.
