Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), working alongside the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have neutralised five terrorists and rescued three abducted civilians during a military operation in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.
The operation took place in the early hours of January 4, 2026, at a known terrorist crossing point along the Sojiri axis, according to a statement by the Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba.
The statement said the troops launched a coordinated offensive against the insurgents, resulting in the killing of five terrorists without any casualties among the security forces.
During the operation, three civilians held captive by the terrorists were successfully rescued. Troops also recovered weapons, including AK-47 rifles, and other items from the scene.
The military described the operation as a demonstration of the effectiveness of sustained offensive actions against terrorist groups and the value of collaboration with local security partners. It added that troops continue to maintain operational dominance across the theatre despite evolving security challenges.
Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its resolve to dismantle terrorist networks and restore lasting peace and stability in the North East.
