Taraba varsity SSANU greets new HOS, hails gov. Kefas over appointment

The senior staff association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Taraba state University has congratulated Dr. Hamidu Ahmed Kara over his appointment as Head of Civil Service Taraba state.

The union in congratulatory message signed by the chairperson, comrade Bitrus Joseph Ajibauka, commended governor Agbu Kefas for the choice, described the appointment as a foresight for civil service reformation.

“SSANU, Taraba state University wish to sincerely commend governor Agbu Kefas for appointing Dr Hamidu Ahmed Kara as the new Head of Civil Service Taraba state, after the legitimate retirement of his predecessor, Mr. Tino Paul Maigida.

“To us, the appointment of Dr. Kara is seen as a complete foresight of governor Kefas for a total reformation of the state civil service that would redefine governance and place Taraba on the global map of administrative development.

“While we congratulate Dr. Ahmed Kara on his well deserved appointment, we pray God to strengthen him with more wisdom to drive the Taraba state civil service to the zenith of the civil servants desire that would further ease governor Kefas’ transformational drive for Taraba state”. SSANU TSU celebrated.

Our correspondent reports that, Chief Gibon Timothy Kataps, Taraba state secretary to the government of the state (SGS), had on Tuesday evening, announced the appointment of Dr. Hamidu Ahmed Kara as the new Head of Civil Service Taraba state as approved by governor Agbu Kefas.

In a statement issued and signed by the SGS, the appointment of Dr Kara followed the due retirement of his predecessor, Mr Tino Paul Maigida.

WorldClass247News, also reports that Dr. Kara, until this new development, he served as head of Government House Clinic Jallingo, a Physician to the governor from 1999 – 2015.

He served as Chlef Medical Officer, Health Services Management Board, and as a Director Hospital Services, ministry of health Taraba state in the year 2016, until he was appointed Permanent Secretary, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the state (SGS) Taraba, to oversee Home Affairs and Special Services Department and later posted to Health Services Management Board as Permanent Secretary.

On the 6th December, 2024, Dr. Kara was assigned to supervise the new Ministry of Tertiary Education as Supervising Permanent Secretary before his new appointment as Head of Civil Service Taraba state.
