The Taraba State Skating Team has received a major boost ahead of their upcoming competition in Calabar.
This was observed when the Senior Special Assistant on Sports to Governor Agbu Kefas, Bom Williya Emmanuel, and former African badminton champion, Bulus Jimkam, have provided financial support to facilitate the team’s participation.
The donation, as gathered by WorldClass247News, is part of ongoing efforts to promote sports development in the state and reflects the commitment of both government officials and sports veterans to nurturing young talents.
While addressing journalists, SSA on Sports Bom Williya Emmanuel encouraged the athletes to give their best and make the state proud.
He emphasized the unwavering support of Governor Kefas, noting the administration’s belief in the potential of young athletes in Taraba.
“The governor believes in your potential. Be disciplined, stay focused, and remember you’re not just representing yourselves but the entire state,” Williya said.
Echoing similar sentiments, Bulus Jimkam praised Governor Kefas for prioritizing sports and expressed optimism about the team’s chances at the tournament.
“Taraba has what it takes to succeed in national competitions. I believe in these athletes, and I know they will make us proud,” Jimkam stated.
Team coach Alexander Divine also extended his gratitude to key supporters of the association, including Gara Soyonga Nongha, SSA on Sports Services Christian Kotonti, and SSA on Youth Emmanuel George. He assured that the team is well-prepared and motivated to deliver impressive results in Calabar.
The competition in Calabar is expected to feature top talents from across the country, and Taraba’s skating team is eyeing a strong finish, buoyed by the support and encouragement they’ve received.
