The General Overseer of the Healing Faith Church in Jalingo, Taraba State, Pastor Dan Usman, has urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and steadfast in their faith in God despite the nation’s present social and economic challenges.
Pastor Usman made the call on Sunday, during a special church service held in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, in Jalingo.
In his sermon, he encouraged citizens to adopt a positive outlook on life and people, emphasizing the power of gratitude, faith, and hope in overcoming life’s challenges.
“Never give up on your situation. Keep trusting God and have faith in Him. Thank God today for a better tomorrow. If you are with God, you are secure and safe, and your tomorrow will surely be better than yesterday,” he said.
The cleric noted that every new season brings change and progress, which he described as signs of divine intervention.
“Yesterday and today are never the same because there has been a shift from where we were to where we are now. The only currency that sustains God’s blessings and protection is thanksgiving. If you want to succeed in life, the key is to always be thankful,”he stated.
Pastor Usman also encouraged Nigerians not to lose faith, saying that maintaining hope is vital for emotional strength and spiritual growth.
“When your faith dies, you lose everything in life. When you lose hope, everyone around you can become your enemy. But when you have hope, you always think positively. Dreams only come true when you have hope and remain optimistic,” he cautioned
He further advised Christians to remain committed to prayer and studying the Word of God, describing them as essential to a victorious Christian life.
“The day you stop studying the Word and praying, you lose the world,” he said. “Have hope in God don’t give up.”
Speaking shortly after the service, the immediate past Deputy National President of SWAN, Alhaji Sadiq Moyoyo, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the growth and development of the association in Taraba State and across the country.
Also speaking, the Taraba State SWAN Chairman, Mr. Jude Nuhu Gundale, urged members to remain steadfast and work collectively toward the continued progress of the association both at the state and national levels.
