Delta State Police Command has announced the recovery of stolen vehicles and a cache of firearms following a series of operations targeting suspected kidnappers, armed robbers, and cultists across the state.
According to a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, Edafe Bright, officers from the State Police Commissioner’s Assignment Team raided the residence of a wanted suspect, where they recovered a Toyota Highlander and a Hyundai vehicle. Two Beretta pistols loaded with live ammunition were also seized during the operation.
In a separate incident in Agbarho community, officers apprehended several suspected kidnappers. A subsequent search led to the discovery of three double-barrel guns, a pump-action rifle, and additional rounds of ammunition.
The Command also arrested a suspected member of the Vikings Confraternity, who was found in possession of a Beretta pistol. The suspect reportedly confessed to being a leader of the group.
Commending the efforts of his officers, Commissioner of Police CP Olufemi Abaniwonda reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to maintaining security across Delta State, emphasizing that such efforts are crucial to ensuring a safe environment for businesses and residents.
