The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects and recovered 150,000 suspected Tramadol capsules valued at N5.25 million.
The suspects, identified as 27-year-old Bashiru Ibrahim and 26-year-old Mustapha Labbo, both residents of Jamtari, were arrested in connection with the unlawful transportation of the controlled substance.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the suspects were intercepted on August 11, 2026, by a patrol team attached to the Area Command, Yola.
The team, while conducting a routine patrol, intercepted the suspects at Dabala Village, via Malabu, as they were allegedly transporting the consignment from Jamtari to Garwa in the Republic of Cameroon.
A search conducted by the patrol team led to the recovery of 150 packs containing a total of 150,000 Tramadol capsules, with an estimated street value of N5.25 million..
In a statement signed by Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, Police Public Relations Officer, for the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa state Command, the suspects and the recovered exhibits have been taken into police custody, while investigation is ongoing to determine the source of the drugs and identify other persons connected to the illegal consignment.
The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, FDC, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to combating the trafficking and abuse of illicit and controlled substances in the state.
The Command also urged members of the public to continue providing credible information that could assist the police in preventing crime and protecting communities.
