The Nigeria Police Force has shifted the enforcement date for the Tinted Glass Permit requirement to October 2, 2025, following a surge in applications from vehicle owners.
Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, approved the extension to allow more time for thorough scrutiny of applications, ensuring permits are issued only to qualified individuals in line with national security considerations.
According to Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the extra time will also help fine-tune digital and physical verification processes to maintain the integrity of the system and prevent abuse.
He stressed that the only authorized application portal is possap.gov.ng, warning motorists to ignore unofficial channels.
The Police urged citizens to report any cases of extortion, hidden charges, or unauthorized processing through the dedicated hotline 08147818871.
The Force assured Nigerians of its commitment to balancing convenience with strong security measures for public safety.
