The Nigeria Police Force has announced the arrest of three additional suspects linked to the recent attacks in Plateau State.
According to a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the latest arrests were carried out by operatives of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) in a series of operations targeting illegal firearms and individuals suspected of involvement in the killings.
On May 3, 2025, officers acting on credible intelligence apprehended Abubakar Jibrin in Kalone Community, Shendam Local Government Area. Jibrin was found in possession of a prohibited SMG rifle with an empty magazine, which was recovered from his residence following his confession.
The following day, May 4, police operatives recovered two fabricated revolver rifles in Barkin Ladi. The weapons were traced to cartridges linked to another suspect, Ismail Danjuma, who is currently in custody and cooperating with investigators.
“These arrests and recoveries reflect the unwavering commitment of the Nigeria Police to apprehend those responsible for the heinous killings in Plateau State,” the statement read. “All individuals found complicit will face the full weight of the law.”
Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, urged citizens to remain calm and continue supporting the Police with timely information, assuring the public that efforts are ongoing to restore peace and security across affected communities.
The Police reaffirmed their resolve to bring justice to victims and dismantle the criminal networks destabilizing Plateau and other troubled areas in the country.
