Subject: A Patriotic Appeal for Legislative Action on the Creation of Chiefdoms in Ardo Kola LGA
Dear Hon. Happy Shonruba,
I write to you with deep respect and a strong sense of civic responsibility, driven by the urgent need to address a matter of longstanding concern to the people of Ardo Kola Local Government Area — the lack of recognized traditional Chiefdoms in our constituency.
As a peace journalist and advocate for harmony and justice in Taraba State, I respectfully call on you, as our representative in the Taraba State House of Assembly, to sponsor and champion a legislative motion for the creation of three Chiefdoms in Ardo Kola LGA, namely:
- Kola Chiefdom, to be headed by a Mumuye traditional ruler
- Bakin Dutse Chiefdom, to be headed by a Kona traditional ruler
- Ardo Chiefdom, to be headed by a Fulani traditional ruler
This proposal is not merely symbolic—it is an essential step toward fostering peaceful coexistence, promoting cultural inclusion, and empowering grassroots governance. Traditional institutions play a vital role in conflict resolution, community mobilization, and local development. Yet, Ardo Kola remains the only LGA in Taraba State without any recognized First or even Third Class Chiefdom. This historical oversight continues to fuel frustration, a sense of marginalization, and disconnection from the larger state framework.
Honourable Sir, your current position offers a unique opportunity to correct this imbalance. By initiating legislative efforts to create these Chiefdoms, you will be honoring the diverse heritage of our people and reinforcing the foundation of unity and peace in our LGA.
Such a move would not only serve your constituents with justice and fairness but would also establish your name in history as a true advocate of equity, peace, and inclusive development.
I trust in your capacity and passion for serving the people of Ardo Kola, and I urge you to act with urgency and conviction on this issue.
Thank you for your continued service.
Yours faithfully,
E-signed:
