The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has praised the Commander of 23 Brigade, Brigadier General Paul Zawaya, for his exemplary leadership in strengthening security in Adamawa State.

In a statement released in Yola by Lt. Adebayo Samuel Adewumi, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the Brigade, Brigadier General Ahmed made the commendation during a courtesy visit to the Brigade Headquarters in Jimeta-Yola.

The NYSC DG expressed appreciation for the military’s continuous support of the scheme in the state, lauding Brigadier General Zawaya’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability. He described the Brigade Commander as “a model of exemplary leadership.”

Brigadier General Ahmed noted that his visit was part of a nationwide tour of NYSC camps and emphasized the importance of collaboration between the corps and the military.

In response, Brigadier General Zawaya applauded the NYSC’s role in fostering national unity and social cohesion.

He encouraged the DG to sustain and build upon the achievements of the scheme under his leadership.

Meanwhile, the Archbishop of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN), Most Reverend Musa Panti Filibus, also visited the Brigade Headquarters.

He commended the troops for their dedication to protecting lives and property in Adamawa and beyond.

The Archbishop expressed gratitude for the military’s support of faith-based institutions, highlighting the strong ties between the Church and the armed forces.
