The Nigeria Police Force has again announced significant progress in its ongoing campaign against crime nationwide, showcasing its commitment to ensuring public safety.

In a press briefing at the Force Intelligence Bureau – Intelligence Response Team (FIB-IRT) headquarters, the police detailed its recent successes, including the dismantling of multiple criminal syndicates, the recovery of 134 firearms and 1,012 rounds of ammunition, and the rescue of 302 kidnapped victims.

The police also revealed the arrest of 179 armed robbery suspects, 100 kidnapping suspects, 152 murder suspects, 34 individuals for unlawful possession of firearms, 77 rape suspects, and 110 suspected cultists. Additionally, 73 firearms, 310 rounds of ammunition, 56 stolen vehicles, and 22 kidnapped victims were recovered in separate operations across the country.

Among the high-profile cases was the arrest of Muhammed Kabir (36) and his accomplices, Donald Okpere and Haruna Ibrahim, who posed as military personnel to defraud victims of millions of naira using fake bank alerts.

Another notable breakthrough was the apprehension of Sunday Okwo Ade, Monday Solomon, David Emmanuel, and Shakiru Badmus, who specialized in stealing motorcycles from farmers in Lagos and Ogun states. Fifteen stolen motorcycles were recovered from the group.

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun commended the Force’s efforts and reaffirmed the commitment to protecting lives and property.

“The Nigeria Police Force remains resolute in creating a safe and secure environment for all citizens to go about their daily lives without fear,” Egbetokun said in a statement issued by Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

The IGP further assured the public of the Force’s determination to pursue criminal elements and uphold justice in accordance with the nation’s laws.
