Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, was involved in a minor road accident on Sunday evening while on official duty along the Daura-Katsina highway.
The incident, which occurred as the governor was travelling for state engagements, was confirmed in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed.
“We are pleased to confirm that the Governor is in good health and stable condition, with no serious injuries sustained,” the statement read.
Although details surrounding the cause of the accident remain unclear, government officials have reassured the public that Governor Radda is in high spirits and has resumed his duties.
He has expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for His protection and thanked the people of Katsina State and other well-wishers for their prayers and concern.
The Daura-Katsina highway, a major route frequently used by government officials, links the state capital to Daura, the hometown of former President Muhammadu Buhari. The road has experienced increased traffic in recent weeks due to a series of political and official engagements.
The prompt communication from the Government House helped ease public anxiety, as news of the incident quickly circulated across social media platforms.
Citizens have since flooded online spaces with prayers and messages of relief, expressing gratitude for the governor’s safety.
No injuries were reported among members of the governor’s entourage, although the statement did not confirm whether others were involved.
