Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, and his Deputy, Dennis Idahosa, have commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for initiating repairs on the deteriorated sections of the Benin-Sapele-Warri road.
The governor and his deputy inspected the progress of the more than 30-kilometer road project alongside the contractors and expressed satisfaction with the work done so far.
The Benin-Sapele-Warri road, a crucial link for economic and social activities in Edo and Delta States, had suffered from years of neglect, making travel difficult for motorists.
However, with the ongoing rehabilitation, the state government is optimistic about a lasting solution.
Speaking after the inspection, Governor Okpebholo praised President Tinubu’s commitment to infrastructure development and assured Edo residents that the project would be completed in record time.
“This is our president in action. The contractors are making rapid progress in fixing this critical road, and Edo is now developing at a pace similar to Lagos. We deeply appreciate the president’s commitment to ensuring Edo people benefit from good governance,” Okpebholo stated.
Levent Contractors, the firm handling section one of the project, confirmed that they are focusing on the most damaged portions, using continuous concrete rigid pavement technology to ensure durability for up to 50 years.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to monitoring the project’s progress and lauded the federal government’s steady funding, calling it a clear indication of Tinubu’s support for Edo State’s development.
