Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has taken a significant step toward resolving the long-standing land dispute between the Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh communities in Udu and Warri South-West Local Government Areas.
In a crucial peace meeting held on Saturday at his Osubi residence, Governor Oborevwori brought together key stakeholders and members of the peace committee from both communities.
During the discussions, both parties agreed to embrace peace and adhere to a mutually accepted settlement plan.
Addressing the gathering, the governor commended the elders and youths of both communities for their commitment to reconciliation. He assured them that a formal pronouncement on the agreed terms would be made soon.
Community representatives expressed their gratitude to the governor for his intervention and efforts in resolving the long-standing crisis.
As part of his administration’s commitment to lasting peace, Governor Oborevwori had previously approved the construction of the Aladja/Ogbe-Ijoh road through the State Executive Council.
