In a bold move to bolster security in Plateau State, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has announced a strategic partnership with Briech UAS Limited to deploy state-of-the-art drones for intelligence gathering and rapid response by security agencies.
The unveiling of Briech UAS-manufactured drones and missiles took place in Kuje, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, where Governor Mutfwang was joined by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher G. Musa.
The governor emphasized the crucial role of technology in modern security operations, describing the partnership as a groundbreaking initiative to tackle security threats in Plateau State.
Governor Mutfwang expressed appreciation for the dedication of the Nigerian Armed Forces and thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to national security.
He urged the military to support local manufacturers in developing military-grade surveillance equipment tailored to Nigeria’s security challenges.
“As the Governor of Plateau State, I can attest to the professionalism and efficiency of the Nigerian Armed Forces. This is why Plateau State is regaining its reputation as the ‘Home of Peace and Tourism’ despite recent security distractions.
One of the key tools enabling this progress is the effective deployment of technology, and Briech UAS has played a crucial role in our security efforts,” Mutfwang stated.
He noted that the deployment of Briech UAS surveillance technology in Plateau State has already enhanced the operational effectiveness of security forces. The governor expressed confidence that this collaboration would further strengthen security operations, enabling farmers and residents to return safely to their daily activities.
“The time is now to address these challenges that hinder national prosperity. One of my key aspirations this year is to see Plateau State farmers return to their farms with the assurance of safety. The only way to achieve this is by providing them with adequate security coverage, both in the air and on the ground,” he added.
General Musa commended Briech UAS Limited for its innovation, assuring that the Defence Headquarters would explore further collaborations to enhance national security efforts.
“It is with great honor that I witness the unveiling and live demonstration of the first set of locally manufactured attack drones by Briech UAS Limited. This marks a major milestone in our nation’s journey toward self-reliance in defense technology,” General Musa stated.
He emphasized that the adoption of advanced surveillance technology is essential for security forces to take swift and decisive action against emerging threats.
Dr. Bright Echefu, Chairman of Briech Group, the parent company of Briech UAS Limited, highlighted the significance of their latest advancements in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology.
“We are dedicated to developing both surveillance and attack drones specifically designed to address Nigeria’s unique security challenges. Our UAVs are equipped with advanced sensors and imaging technologies, enabling them to detect and monitor activities that pose threats to national security,” Dr. Echefu explained.
The partnership between Plateau State and Briech UAS Limited, as gathered by WorldClass247News, is expected to significantly improve intelligence-gathering capabilities and reinforce security measures, ultimately restoring peace and stability to the region.
