Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has reaffirmed his commitment to delivering good governance despite what he describes as deliberate attempts to derail his administration.

Speaking at a State Executive Council meeting in Osogbo, Governor Adeleke reflected on recent challenges in the state, emphasizing that his government remains steadfast in its mission to serve the people of Osun.

“Last month was a very busy and turbulent one,” he noted. “We faced the misuse of federal power, from security agencies to judicial interpretations. A vicious, anti-democratic campaign was launched against our government. Osun was under siege in a manner nobody ever envisaged.”

The governor, however, declared that his administration has emerged stronger. “We survived the evil and offensive onslaught. Our adversaries failed in their bid to plunge Osun into chaos. With divine wisdom and overwhelming public support, we have retained and even strengthened our hold on the state.”

Governor Adeleke highlighted recent governance milestones, including the successful conduct of the local government elections and the swearing-in of newly elected officials. He also revealed ongoing legal efforts to remove what he termed “illegal invaders” in the local government system.

Additionally, he announced immediate action on issuing appointment letters to newly recruited teachers, underscoring his administration’s dedication to education and public service.

Regarding accountability, the governor assured cabinet members that steps are being taken to investigate and address alleged financial mismanagement and procurement irregularities from the previous administration.

He urged his team to remain focused, warning that opposition forces “are still lurking in the dark” with intentions to disrupt governance.

“We must never succumb to distractions. Our priority remains delivering on the five-point agenda of this administration. We will complete all ongoing projects and initiate new ones to ensure democratic dividends reach every corner of our state,” he stated.

Governor Adeleke further disclosed plans to unveil the 2025 infrastructure project implementation blueprint, which will outline timelines for statewide inspections and the commissioning of completed projects.

“We have the upper hand, and we must forge ahead without weakness,” he concluded.
