The Eastern Security Network (ESN) has refuted claims of involvement in a combat face-off with the Nigerian Police Force in Imo State.
Mazi Chinasa Nworu, a senior official in the ESN’s command structure and a member of the IPOB Directorate of States, dismissed the allegations in a statement.
Nworu clarified that no ESN operatives were engaged in any confrontation with the police in the region.
His remarks came in response to recent reports and images circulated by the Nigerian Police, which claimed to have apprehended and neutralized alleged ESN members.
According to the police, some of those killed were reportedly wearing T-shirts with the ESN logo.
The IPOB official labeled the police’s allegations as baseless and aimed at tarnishing the group’s image. Further clarification and updates are expected as the situation unfolds.
