Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have apprehended 19 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in Benin City, Edo State.
The arrests, carried out on Thursday, February 27, 2025, were based on credible intelligence linking the suspects to cybercrime activities.
According to the EFCC, the operation took place at various locations across Benin, the state capital.
During the raid, law enforcement officials seized seven luxury vehicles, multiple laptop computers, and mobile phones, all believed to be connected to fraudulent operations.
Authorities, also confirmed that the suspects have provided useful information and will face prosecution once investigations are completed.
