Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in their efforts to eradicate insurgency in the state.
Governor Buni made this pledge on Sunday, while receiving the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede, during a courtesy visit to the Government House in Damaturu.
In a statement released by his Director-General of Press and Media Affairs, Mamman Mohammed, the governor commended the military for its dedication to maintaining security, which has significantly improved across the state.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Oluyede, assured Governor Buni of the army’s unwavering commitment to defeating insurgency and banditry across the country.
“It is my personal ambition to see the end of this menace as quickly as possible. I urge support from political leaders and citizens to achieve this goal,” Gen. Oluyede said.
Drawing on his past experience serving in Yobe State, the COAS expressed confidence in achieving lasting peace in the region.
He also commended the Yobe State government for its consistent support of the military, emphasizing the need for continued collaboration to end insurgency.
